Lowratevoip.com is one of the betamax products which you can use to make free calls and free sms to a large number of free destinations. It’s calling plans are really cheap. The best thing about this software is you can call many destinations for free! But before you go along with the payment I would highly suggest all to give a look at their rates and free destinations. They use to offer free incoming number but suddenly they turned that feature off without any notice to paid customers .As I look forward to free calling softwares I will talk about the free calling feature of Lowratevoip
Benefits:

• Easy and fast dialing.
• Free sms to anywhere in the world(limited number of sms can be sent)
• The dialer is really good with sound notification

• Voice quality is not as good as MediaringTalk
• Takes up a lot of Bandwidth(so dialup connections lag)
• Limited free calling time
• Takes up a lot of Cpu memory usage
If you are a new subscriber you can just download the lowratevoip software and create a new account and start making free calls and sms to specific destinations.
Trick to make free calls: {For users who already installed lowratevoip but can’t create a new id to make more free calls}
I installed other voip softwares from betamax previously. After installing 2-3 softwares I started getting and error “can’t create a new account :@” So it was impossible to make new accounts and make free calls. After a long time I made another try with this software and it worked. I managed to install and create a free account and made free calls.
Note : Please avoid the new version of Lowratevoip and download the old one from HERE
Before installing:
1. go to C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Application Data(this file is usually hidden so unhide it from { Tools>folder options>view}
2. Inside the application data folder you will see lowratevoip folder.
3. Inside that folder you will find History_account id.dat.
4. Delete that file directly by pressing Shift+Del
5. Also delete the folder
6. Before installing clear all your cookies and restart your computer
7. After performing the previous steps accordingly install the old version from my post
8. Create new account with unique email add(this mail add hasn’t been used with any betamax softs previously)
Funny thing:
As I signed up with lowratevoip.com they sent me a mail telling that I can only make 1 min calls to any free destinations. I made a call to USA and kept the line open for more than more minutes than that as you can see in the picture.

After installing lowratevoip.com a message will prompt up telling to update the soft. Don’t do it . I repeat don’t update the soft. Cause I think betamax traces how many free calls you have made with this updates.
After using the soft and if anytime it says your free calling period is over than just go through steps again to re-install and make free calls and sms.
